Every gift box in this collection holds Grade A+ Kashmiri Mongra saffron, the pure red stigma grade with the pale style removed. It is hand-harvested in Kashmir, ISO 3632 certified and sealed in a glass jar with a gold lid, because saffron loses its aroma to light and air long before it loses its colour. Glass protects it. Plastic pouches do not.
Choosing a size
A 1g jar suits colleagues, acquaintances and thank-you gifts. It is meaningful without creating a sense of obligation. A 3g jar is the choice for family, close friends and weddings, and it will still be in use months after the occasion.
Ordering for Diwali
Saffron demand compresses into a few weeks each autumn, and the best stock goes first. Order six to eight weeks ahead of the festival if you can. Late in the season is precisely when weaker saffron enters the market.
